Race Format
Overview
The Maritime Endurance race is designed to challenge participants across multiple activities, including Trekking, Paddling, and Mountain Biking. The race will be divided into various legs, each dedicated to one of these activities. Detailed information about the legs and their order will be provided closer to the race date.
Checkpoints and Navigation
- Checkpoints: In each leg, teams will need to punch checkpoints based on clues provided. These checkpoints are essential for scoring points.
- Advanced Checkpoints: For those seeking an extra challenge, Advanced checkpoints are available. These require navigation skills to locate.
- Navigation: No navigation is required for the basic checkpoints, only basic map-reading skills. However, teams aiming for Advanced checkpoints will need to navigate using more detailed maps.
Scoring and Strategy
- Points System: Teams earn points for each checkpoint they punch. The more checkpoints you punch, the higher your score.
- Winning Criteria: The winning team is the one with the most checkpoints punched in the least amount of time.
- Strategy: Teams must strategize which legs to complete in what order and whether to attempt the Advanced checkpoints. Efficient time management is crucial, as any team finishing after the allotted time will receive a DNF (Did Not Finish).
Flexibility
Participants can choose to complete as much of the race as they wish. You will only receive points for the checkpoints you punch, allowing teams to tailor their race experience to their skill level and endurance.
Prepare for an exciting and strategic adventure that will test your limits and teamwork. Good luck, and may the best team win!
